Fort Victoria at Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight is a fort that was built in 1852-55.

The fort is now a marine aquarium, cafeteria and public conveniences. The fort was built as a result of the invasion scares of the 1840s.

The fort is triangular in shape with two seaward batteries meeting at a right angle. The fort is made of brick consisting of a series of cambered brick arches, some now having been filled in with 20th Century brickwork to form visitor facilities. What remains is a fragment of the original fort

Fort Victoria was built to protect England from a possible French invasion during the Crimean War. The fort was designed by Captain William Crossman and was one of seven forts built on the Isle of Wight to defend England’s south coast
