Moss Bank Park

A huge park in north Bolton with attractions and sports facilities with woodland, open grassland and ornamental gardens in the parkland of the former Moss Bank House.

Moss Bank Park is popular with people of all ages, with extensive children’s play areas, miniature train and amusements on various days of the year. The majoirty of the park is grassland and wooded areas with two gardens that are perfect for a peaceful stroll or picnic.

The old Moss Bank House was demolished in the 1950s but a ranges of the old outbuildings remain. There is also a highly ornate, stone, ‘Public Drinking Fountain’ – non-functional, and some areas of local industrial archaeology – one car park being on the site of an early bleach works and the nearby Barrow Bridge chimney ‘towering’ above.
