Roddlesworth Woods

Roddlesworth Woods is situated on the east-facing slopes of the valley between Darwen Moor and Great Hill where the River Roddlesworth flows down into three reservoirs before Abbey Village in Lancashire.

The woods at Roddlesworth have a bit of everything from old ruins and waterfalls to easy paths for strolling along beside the reservoirs. Roddlesworth Woods are a local favourite for dog walkers and there are usually plenty of friendly dogs around playing in the river or at the southernmost end of the Upper Roddlesworth reservoir where there is a (usually) shallow shoreline.

Roddlesworth Woods is also good for longer walks up onto Darwen Moor and the surrounding hills or over to Great Hill and White Coppice.
