Mill Gill Force is an especially scenic waterfall in a rocky gorge above the small town of Askrigg in Yorkshire. Best viewed from the stream bed if the water level allows and the rocks aren’t too slippy.
One of two decent waterfalls on the Mill Gill, the Mill Gill Force can be overpowering after heavy rain and a most spectacular sight if you can get near enough. It is pleasant and otherworldly at other times, shaded by the steep rocks and overhanging trees.
The water from Mill Gill once powered historic mills downstream where part of the old leets can be seen that once fed a waterwheel.
